IEC Activities
IEC Cell is functional under the administrative control of Director General, Health Services.
The Cell comprises of limited manpower as Joint Director, State IEC Officer & Photographer cum Artist.
Implementation – A Systemic And Integrated Approach
- Development of area specific and need based Action Plan.
- Empanelment of Professional Media Agencies for message designing.
- Development of prototypes, pre-test and dissemination
- Formulation and Designing of Media Plans.
- Impact Evaluation.
Activities Performed
- Electronic Media – (Radio and TV Spots on issues related to ANC, Promotion of Breast Feeding, Non Scalpel Vasectomy, Immunization, Adolescent Reproductive Health and Role of ASHA under NRHM)
- Print Media – Posters, Leaf Lets, Boucher, Folder, Flip Books, Calendars (Panchang) and different issues under NRHM
- Outdoor Media – Hoardings, Glow Signs, Video Vans & bus on Issues related to RCH, Malaria, Leprosy and Female Feoticide.
- Interpersonal Communication – Population Education Programmes for Higher Secondary Schools (with Emphasis on Adolescent Girls & Boys), Orientation Training Camps for Service Providers including teachers & ICDS workers, workshops on RCH & NRHM for PRIs and Community opinion leaders.
- Folk Media – to disseminate Issues on Leprosy area specific folk groups were utilized.
- Other Media- Display advertisement through regional NEWS papers
